I'm a Canadian Artist interested in portraiture and abstraction. For the past ten years I've been working in a fairly isolated environment on a small rural property near a small town in southern Ontario called Palmerston. There I've been painting a variety of styles and mediums in the theme of portraiture. I also have a small collection of landscapes of my area of the country. I have studied at OCADu as well as sir Sanford Flemming, and currently do experimental glass work as well as painting. My abstract figurtive studies are an exercise in spontenaity and chaos. They are done on the spot, from life, and are not planned images. i have also been a freelance portrait artist, painting mainly oil portraits of young children. I have also worked as a professional glazier cutting and assembling large, fine art, dome skylights for stately homes. I now live in Toronto and am continuing my studies at OCAD as it is now a university. My artwork has been shown in a number of small gallaries in my region and is available to be seen also at www.chantalherouxarts.ca.
